Nokia 5800 Tube vs Apple iPhone 3G

iPhone-Codes.com claims to have come into possession of Nokia’s top-secret iPod killer’s vitals and official name. Yes, it’s allegedly going to be dubbed the Nokia 5800 Tube, and here’s how it could measure up against the iPhone…

Here’s how the Nokia 5800 Tube is shaping up:
• 3.2-inch touchscreen display
• 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus
• Quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM/EDGE radio
• 3G UMTS/HSDPA
• Bluetooth 2.0
• WiFi
• GPS
• 3.5mm headphone jack
• TV-out port
• 140MB on-board storage
• 111 x 52 x 14.5 mm
• 104g

Apple iPhone’s vital statistics:
• 3.5-inch touchscreen display
• 2.0 megapixel camera (no autofocus)
• Quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM/EDGE radio
• no 3G UMTS/HSDPA
• Bluetooth 2.0
• WiFi
• no GPS
• proprietary headphone jack
• proprietary TV-out port
• 8GB or 16GB on-board storage
• 115 x 61 x 11.6 mm
• 135g

At a glance, Nokia clearly aces Apple with a smaller and lighter handset, equipped with a superior camera and Internet-anywhere capability, at least according to the specs released by iPhone-Codes. Fingers-crossed, there will be a micro SD card slot too.

Round one to Nokia then. But that’s not the end of the story. Nokia will have to rush 5800 Tube out before iPhone 3G hits the shops in June (Apple’s most likely launch date) to gain any kind of lead. Watch this space…
